Diet is not the word!

Making the decision to eat healthy is actually more serious than you think. You’re now going to have to actively decide between popping into KFC for a quick lunch or making your own salad to take to work and I know its much easier to go for the quicker option!
What I’ve found on my own personal journey is to stay away from the word diet. Diet makes it all sound temporary, like I’ve got an end time to stop eating healthy and to go back to my old habits.
What I’ve done is switch my mind to making healthier choices everyday and not indulging in the same old bad habits I had before. This is not to say that you can’t indulge once in a while!
My weakness is pasta, I love it! I could eat it everyday! So once in a while I indulge when I go out for a meal with friends, I don’t deprive myself of anything because I find when I do that, I end up quitting and going straight back into my old habits.
It’s been almost 6 months since the journey begun and I can say its the longest time that I have kept up my healthy eating habits and exercise and I think that itself is proof that DIET is not the word! There are also much healthier substitutes for the things you love so giving them up wont feel so hard!
